The game of billiards, also known as pool, has been around for centuries, and unlike many sports, does not require a high degree of athleticism. Rather, billiards rewards players that can plan ahead and master the movement and caroms of the balls. Pool is an ideal game for being social. It lets you mingle, talk smack to your friends, or watch TV or listen to music while you play. It’s also a great way to unwind after a stressful day.
The two most popular pool games are 8-Ball, where the goal is to pocket all of your balls (either stripes or solids), and then the 8 ball in a called pocket; and 9-Ball, where the goal is to pocket the 9 ball, only hitting the lowest-numbered ball on the table.
